Summer Reading Program 2010

Make a Splash @ Your Library! This free program for K-5 graders is designed to maintain learning skills through the summer!

Attendees The program is designed for children in grades K-5. Older children and younger children are welcome with prior arrangements. Older children often help out with the program. Younger children will need an adult or older sibling to accompany them. Please contact the library in advance, so we can make sure this is a great experience for all.

How to Register:

Children ages 6-12 (GRADES K-5) can register anytime after the last day of school.

Registration can be completed either during the kick-off party, Friday June 4th at the Farmer's Market on Main Street from  5-7pm or at the Library.  At registration. you will set weekly reading goals.

Programs and events will be held on Tuesdays in June and July at the Library from 1:00-2:30pm.  In case of extreme heat or rain the program will move to City Hall on Main Street.

June 8:      Wow! Wonders of Water.

June 15:    High Seas Adventure.

June 22:    An Ocean of Fun.  Aquatic trainer.

June 29:    Splish Splash Summer.

July 6:        H2O to Go! By the Science Center of Iowa.

July 12:      Squish, Squash! Freshwater and wetlands.

July 20:      Prizes and more!

July 27:      Field Trip to the Nature Center, Marshall County Grimes Farm (approximately 9:00-1:00pm)
